I went to Hurricane Ridge to take photos of the Olympic Mountain Range at sunset. I was hoping for wildflowers and big puffy clouds. Well…, the wildflowers were almost done blooming and as soon as the sun went down the big puffy clouds vanished. This was probably the best image I got that night. I’ve been posting images that have been mostly green so I thought I’d post something with a little color. This is one of my favorite places. This is looking west over the Straits of Juan de Fuca with Vancouver Island on the right.
This river is at the bottom of the Falls View Canyon Trail. From the parking lot to the bottom of the canyon is about 0.5 miles. This is a steep (10-20% grade) but well maintained trail. After reaching the bottom there is an easy 1 mile loop along the river.
