This river is at the bottom of the Falls View Canyon Trail. From the parking lot to the bottom of the canyon is about 0.5 miles. This is a steep (10-20% grade) but well maintained trail. After reaching the bottom there is an easy 1 mile loop along the river.
Driving up the road to the Hoh Rain Forest the first thing we see is a herd of Elk. We actually had to stop the car so they could cross in front of us. Very majestic animals. I was hoping to post a photo of Crater Lake National Park but when I arrived the crater was completely filled with clouds and the lake wasn’t visible. There was also about 6′ of snow everywhere, which would have probably made for a great photo.
